K21 ACADEMY AWS CLOUD PROJECTS
Automated Resume Portfolio Website with AWS CI/CD | Amazon S3, CloudFront, Route 53, CodePipeline, CodeBuild, IAM, GitHub
Business Problem: Needed a professional, publicly accessible website to showcase my resume, AWS certifications, technical skills, and cloud projects to potential employers, while eliminating manual website deployments.
• Built and hosted a professional resume portfolio website using Amazon S3, CloudFront, Route 53, and HTTPS.
• Implemented an automated CI/CD pipeline integrating GitHub, AWS CodePipeline, and CodeBuild to deploy website changes to Amazon S3.
• Configured IAM permissions and automated CloudFront cache invalidation after successful deployments.
• Outcome: Successfully tested a four-stage CI/CD pipeline (Source, Build, Deploy, CloudFront Invalidation), enabling automatic website updates from GitHub.
Deploy 3-Tier Architecture (Web, App, Database) | Amazon EC2, AWS Networking
Business Problem: A single-server setup limits scalability and creates a single point of failure for growing applications.
• Designed and deployed a separated web, application, and database tier architecture on AWS.
• Configured networking and access controls between tiers to reflect production-style separation of concerns.
• Outcome: Built a working reference architecture demonstrating scalable, maintainable multi-tier design.
Deploy Web Application on AWS Elastic Beanstalk with CI/CD Pipeline | AWS Elastic Beanstalk, CodePipeline, CodeBuild,
Business Problem: Manual application deployments can be time-consuming and inconsistent when updates need to be delivered repeatedly.
• Deployed a Node.js web application to AWS Elastic Beanstalk and configured the environment to run the application.
• Built a CI/CD pipeline using GitHub, AWS CodePipeline, and CodeBuild to automate application builds and deployments.
• Outcome: Gained hands-on experience with automated cloud deployment, CI/CD workflows, application hosting, and AWS DevOps services.
Automate Start/Stop EC2 Instance using Lambda & Eventbridge | Amazon EC2, Amazon Lambda, Eventbridge, IAM
Business Problem: Automated EC2 instance start/stop schedules using Amazon EventBridge and AWS Lambda, reducing unnecessary compute usage by ensuring development, testing, and staging environments run only during required working hours .
• Automated EC2 instance start and stop operations using AWS Lambda and Amazon EventBridge based on defined working-hour schedules.
• Configured EventBridge cron rules to trigger Lambda functions that start or stop EC2 instances across development, testing, and staging environments.
• Implemented automated compute scheduling to reduce unnecessary EC2 runtime and improve cloud cost management.
Cloud Migration: On-Premises to AWS EC2 (Windows) | Amazon EC2, Windows Server 2025, RDP
Business Problem: A financial services company's internal accounting application was affected by reliability and availability issues caused by aging on-premises hardware.
• Migrated the application to a Windows EC2 instance using a Windows Server 2025 Base AMI to replace the legacy on-premises setup.
• Configured and secured Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) access, including password encryption, for secure remote connectivity.
• Outcome: Documented the resulting gains in reliability, reduced downtime, secure remote access, scalability, and cost efficiency.
Scalable E-Commerce Application Server Deployment | Amazon EC2 (Linux)
Business Problem: An e-commerce platform needed a cost-effective, scalable application server rather than continuing to rely on ad hoc hosting.
• Deployed and configured a Linux-based Amazon EC2 instance to serve as the platform's application server.
• Configured network security groups and access controls to secure the deployed environment.
• Outcome: Applied cloud infrastructure best practices for cost-effective, scalable hosting.
Host Dynamic Website on AWS: Apache, MariaDB, PHP | Amazon EC2, Apache, MariaDB, PHP (LAMP-style stack)
Business Problem: Static hosting alone can't support dynamic, database-driven web applications.
• Deployed and configured Apache, MariaDB, and PHP on an EC2 instance to serve a dynamic website.
• Connected the application layer to a MariaDB database to support dynamic content delivery.
• Outcome: Gained hands-on experience with a full open-source web stack on AWS infrastructure.
Host Static Website on AWS using S3 & Route 53 | Amazon S3, Route 53, S3 Static Website Hosting
Business Problem: A professional portfolio needed a scalable, low-cost, low-maintenance hosting solution with a custom domain.
• Built and hosted a static portfolio website using an Amazon S3 bucket configured for static website hosting.
• Configured Route 53 for domain routing to the hosted site.
• Outcome: Delivered a scalable, cost-effective site showcasing AWS knowledge, certifications, and career experience.
